TUI announces new retail director
TUI has announced its new director of retail will be Jill Carter. She replaces Kathryn Ward who left the operator last October and has since joined Thomas Cook and the Co-operative retail network in the same role.
TUI said Carter, currently head of retail sales, will lead the transformation of the retail business across the 649 shops in the UK and Ireland.
She will report to customer operations director Fraser Ellacott.
Ellacott said: "We are committed to developing a multi-channel distribution network with retail and online working alongside each other.
"2015 marks a new era for our retail business as we focus on a strategy of innovation, investing in new technologies and service to enhance the customer experience.
" In her new role, Jill will lead this programme and work closely with other customer facing areas of our business to deliver a next generation holiday experience on the high street. With a wealth of retail experience from over 20 years in our business there is no one better placed to take on this role."
Carter joined TUI UK & Ireland in 1991 as regional sales manager. More recently she has played a major role in the design of the new retail service model and the implementation of Thomson’s new Holiday Design Stores.
