TUI enhances its green technology
TUI Travel is rolling out new technology as part of its on-going commitment to sustainable holidays.
The operator is using CloudApps’ Sustainability Cloud, which will make it making it easier to track and analyse sustainability performance across its brands.
The Cloud will allow TUI Travel to standardise the collation and consolidation of environmental data from over 400 different sources, enabling it to meet carbon reporting requirements and identify potential efficiency savings across the group.
The Sustainability Cloud’s standardised reporting procedure will also make it easier to run both external and internal reports across the group, whilst enabling it to access performance statistics on a real-time basis.
The Cloud will allow TUI Travel to assess the sustainability performance of individual hotels, airlines or major premises across the group, highlight room for improvement, and consequently monitor comparative progress through tangible results.
The Sustainability Cloud can be operated in six languages, ensuring quick and accurate use worldwide.
James Whittingham, group environment manager at TUI Travel, said: "This is the first time we will capture all this data in one place.
"The intelligence gained will help us to improve our sustainability business performance.
"The reporting interface gives us a robust, fully auditable model, allowing us to run reports and pull relevant data on-demand, making us more accountable to our customers and enabling more in-depth analysis of our own performance."
Elsewhere with the TUI group, accommodation wholesaler Hotelbeds has announced 50% sales growth in the Middle East, Asia, Australia and Pacific Islands (MEAPAC).
