Chinese accommodation platform Tujia has struck a deal to take over the homestay businesses of both Ctrip and Qunar.
The rental platforms of Ctrip and Qunar including web sites and apps, and their respective operation teams will be integrated into Tujia.
"In the segmented vertical sector of the homestay and accommodation business, Tujia has built itself into a great brand and established a high reputation. Therefore, we are very pleased to integrate the favourable advantages by handing the homestay business of Ctrip over to Tujia," said Maria Sun, the Executive Vice President of Ctrip.com.
Tujia also purchased short term rental platform Mayi.com earlier this year.
Justin Luo, Tujia co-founder and CEO, said the company will now focus on aligning the various brands and systems and deliver a better user experience for both guests and hosts.
Tujia has also expanded its reach overseas with offices in Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan, all major markets for Chinese travellers.
