Turkish Airlines launching Melbourne flights
Turkish Airlines is bolstering its long-haul route network by adding Melbourne flights.
The Turkiye flag carrier has scheduled three flights a week to Melbourne from 15 March 2024 via Singapore.
Australia becomes the airline’s 130th country served and the 346th global destination.
Turkish Airlines will also be the only European airline to currently operate flights to Melbourne Airport.
“As we bring the Turkish and Australian people closer, we aim to increase bilateral tourism, trade, and business opportunities,” Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, Turkish Airlines Chairman, said.
It is supported by the Victorian Government and Melbourne Airport, as Melbourne is home to Australia’s largest Turkish community.
In the next few years, Turkish Airlines aims to operate nonstop direct flights to Melbourne and other Australian cities with the acquisition of new long-haul aircraft.
