Twelve million Aussies under stay-at-home orders
A sizeable portion of Eastern Australia is facing stay-at-home orders. About 12 million Australians will be under stay-at-home orders from Thursday night as Melbourne joins Sydney in lockdown.
Australia is facing a Covid resurgence with almost 1,000 cases nationwide in a month. Victoria State premier Dan Andrews said a fifth lockdown for Melbourne was an ‘absolute necessity.’ It was described as a ‘hard and fast’ lockdown.
"Nothing about this virus is fair," Andrews said.
