Two lawsuits filed against United Airlines over Denver engine failure
Two more lawsuits have been filed against United Airlines from two passengers aboard a United Airlines flight which suffered an engine explosion.
An engine exploded just minutes after takeoff from Denver International Airport with engine parts falling to the ground.
The plane returned to DIA and landed safely with no injuries.
The Honolulu-bound flight was carrying 229 passengers and 10 crew.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is still investigating the explosion.
The lawsuits are seeking at least $50,000 in damages due to ‘trauma and distress,’ according to a Chicago law firm.
"The passengers on this flight thought it was going to be their last. Imagine as a passenger looking out the window of a plane and helplessly watching the engine on fire," said Robert Clifford, senior partner at Clifford Law.
United is also facing a class action lawsuit which was filed last month.
