Two travel firms follow latest failures
Southampton based Pumpkin Tours which specialised in sports and hospitality packages and London based travel agent FT Tours have ceased trading.
These two failures are the latest travel firms to collapse following Pinnacle Tours a few days ago and Holidays 4U last month.
A message on the Pumpkin Tours website said the company was no longer trading and had entered liquidation.
“Pumpkin Tours' staff are no longer able to provide any information and are no longer employees of the company. All creditors will be contacted directly by the receivers. Please do not phone as your call cannot be answered at this time.”
Last year Pumpkin Tours’ managing director Eugene Bari announced it was going to channel 100% of its special events packages, which included horseracing and Formula 1 packages, through travel agents from January 2011.
The operator, which had been a member of the Travel Trust Association but left the group last year, launched in 2009 offering ‘adrenalin packages’.
The Civil Aviation Authority said that both companies had ceased trading with immediate effect.
"Both are small licence holders and had no passengers overseas as the time of the failure. There are also not many forward bookings," a spokeswoman said.
