Romagna spring 2017 destination FAM experiences are now open for applications from travel agents, tour operators, group and MICE organizers, and spouses/partners to experience this unique area – the wonderfully picturesque ancient Italian region of Romagna.

Between Venice and Florence, the Apennine Mountains and the Adriatic Sea – Romagna is known as the ‘Heart of Italy’. Authentic, natural and much less touristy than many other Italian destinations, Romagna is revered throughout Italy for its warm hospitality, the quality of its local food and wine, its stunningly beautiful countryside, its hundreds of fairytale hilltop castles and its major cities of art.

And it has another really important aspect that you and your clients will feel everywhere you go.

Whether you’re shopping or eating, walking or talking, in Romagna you can always expect old-fashioned courtesy, kindness and care. Here you can feel totally relaxed in the knowledge that your (and your clients’) visit is really important and worthwhile.

Because, in Romagna you are not just another tourist as you may be in many places nowadays – here you are indeed a treasured guest.

Romagna has been recently rated as one of the world’s top 100 Green Destinations for very good reason – it offers visitors experiences that really warm their hearts.

ABOUT ROMAGNA:

Astonishing Treasure Chest

Romagna has one of the most astonishing treasure chests of heritage, culture and hospitality in the world. Its small area includes pretty fishing ports, wonderful vineyard covered, fairytale castle topped hillsides and astonishingly rich cities of art.

Old World Courtesy, Care, Kindness

And in Romagna you are not just another tourist as you may be in many places nowadays – here you are indeed a treasured guest. Wherever you are you can always expect old-fashioned courtesy, kindness and care.

Great food, wine and hospitality

Romagna has an unbelievable range of great local food and wine. Superb hillside vineyards, wonderful olive groves, great local meats, salamis, prosciuttos, a vast variety of fruits and nuts. It is arguably the birthplace of Italian cuisine with one of the best cookery foundations in Italy started by Pellegrino Artusi – the ‘Father of Italian Cookery’. And its reputation for generous hospitality is second to none

Walkable Art and History Heritage

The glorious World Heritage city of Ravenna itself, world famous for its breathtaking mosaics, was three times capital of the Roman Empire and has no less than 8 UNESCO sites all around 1500 years old.

Other major art cities include the hilltop festival-city of Santarcangelo, the Sforza city of Dozza with its atmospheric castle, wine museum and its biannual festival of murals on houses. The ancient ceramic city of Faenza, the lovely Venetian-influenced resort and fishing port of Cesenatico.

The world’s oldest republic – San Marino, at the top of mount Titano – towers over the area – this extraordinary world heritage site, and fiercely independent state is walkable history.

And Atmospheric Hilltop Castles Galore

Romagna has an incredible legacy of atmospheric medieval hill and mountaintop castles, and citadels – it is said over 300 – built by the Montefeltro, Sforza, Este and the Malatesta families – and by various Popes. All add to Romagna’s atmospheric beauty and charm.
