UNESCO concern over theme park planned for next to Angkor temple complex
UNESCO is voicing concern over plans for a large theme park project on the doorstep of the famed Cambodian temple complex of Angkor. The $350 million project is set to feature a range of attractions including a water park and indoor ‘digital theme park.’
‘Clearly unfavourable’ opinions were raised in an UNESCO meeting by conservation and sustainable development experts. The first phase of the development is expected to open in 2025.
