Wednesday, 07 Feb, 2023 0

Union Unite confirmed airport strikes across Scotland in the coming weeks.

Members at all 11 Highlands and Islands Airport Limited (HIAL) group airports will walk out.

They rejected a 5% pay offer.

Unite represents security officers, baggage handlers and ground crew.

Several days of 24-hour strike action is expected to take place this month.

It starts on 17 and 20 February at Dundee Airport

The other 10 HIAL locations including Inverness Kirkwall and Stornoway, will see airport strikes on 21, 22, and 23 February.

“Strike action is now inevitable at all 11 airports,” Sharon Graham, Unite general secretary, said.

Members voted in December 2022 by 73.5 %  in favour of strike action.
