United Airlines has teed off for another six years as official airline of golf’s PGA Tour.
The Chicago based carrier has extended the existing deal through 2021 which also includes the Champions Tour and Web.com Tour.
United first became airline sponsor for the Tour in 2012, replacing rival Delta Air Lines.
United will have marketing rights at selected events during the season including the World Golf Championships-Dell Match Play and Shell Houston Open.
United MileagePlus membes get access to hospitality at each of the events and preferential rates on green fees at selected courses affiliated to the PGA Tour.
"Considering the amount of travel that is required of our players on the PGA Tour, PGA Tour Champions and the Web.com Tour, as well as our staff, this is obviously a very important category for us," said Tom Wade, the PGA Tour’s chief commercial officer.
"We’ve been very pleased with this relationship and the services United Airlines has provided, so we are extremely pleased to be able to announce this long-term extension with a true global leader in the airline industry."
