As part of its biggest ever international route expansion out of San Francisco, United Airlines is launching nonstop flights to Australian city Melbourne.
Like its other routes down under, United will fly Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
The three times a week route kicks off October 29 2019.
United also serves Sydney from SFO and flies to Melbourne from Los Angeles.
Melbourne was just one of five new nonstop routes announced by United out of SFO.
Seasonal flights to New Delhi and a year-round Toronto route were announced for 2019.
They join a new daily Amsterdam route which United announced earlier this year.
"This route expansion solidifies United’s position at San Francisco," said United CEO Oscar Munoz.
From April 1 next year United is doubling frequency from San Francisco to Seoul to twice daily, and expanding seasonal Auckland and Tahiti routes to year-round.
