United launches venture fund to discover new tech innovations in travel
United Airlines has established a new, corporate venture fund called United Airlines Ventures, which will allow the airline to continue investing in emerging companies that bring future innovations to travel.
The new fund will concentrate on sustainability concepts to move forward United’s goal of net zero emissions by 2050.
It is keen to work with transformational technologies and services that are help revolutionize the customer experience.
United Airlines Ventures will help to accelerate the growth of SMEs with strong potential.
United’s current Vice President of Corporate Development and Investor Relations, Michael Leskinen, will take the role of President of United Airlines Ventures in addition to current responsibilities.
"United Airlines Ventures will help us grow companies that are pushing the envelope to make air travel better for our customers, our employees and our planet," said Leskinen.
