United to increase London services from San Fran and LA

United Airlines is to increase the frequency of its flights from San Francisco and Los Angeles to London Heathrow.

The airline will operate a second daily San Francisco-Heathrow nonstop service from the end of October, taking the twice daily service year-round.

In April 2017, United will add a second daily Los Angeles-Heathrow flight.

Meanwhile, United has confirmed it will reduce the number of daily nonstop flights it operates from Houston to the London airport from three to two from October 30.

The remaining Houston services will be operated by Boeing 777-200 aircraft, an increase in aircraft size from the current schedule operated with 767-300s and 787s.

The additional San Francisco will be operated by Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with 219 seats – 36 flat-bed seats in BusinessFirst and 183 in Economy, including 70 Economy Plus seats.

The additional Los Angeles service will be operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, with 252 seats – 48 flat-bed seats in BusinessFirst and 204 in Economy, including 88 Economy Plus seats.
