A ‘damaged database file’ was responsible for the FAA outage that delayed 10,000 flights.

It caused the breakdown of the Notice to Air Missions system, preventing any departures for several hours.

“There is no evidence of a cyberattack. The FAA is working diligently to further pinpoint the causes of this issue,” the FAA said.

It took hours for flights to get back on track on Wednesday.

It was the first fully nationwide ground stop of flights since 9/11.

Although flights resumed on Wednesday, there is still a knock-on effect.

Delta, United Airlines and other said they expect to be operating normally by early Thursday.
