US bans all Cuba flights outside Havana

The Trump administration is piling more pressure on Cuba by banning flights from the US to all destinations except for Havana.
It will see the end of JetBlue flights to Santa Clara, Holguin, and Camaguey.
JetBlue will start scrapping the flights in December, the state department said.
It also forces American Airlines to end its Camaguey, Holguin, Santiago, Varadero and Santa Clara flights.
The administration’s obsession with decimating the Cuba tourism industry will ‘prevent the Castro regime from profiting from US air travel and using the revenues to repress the Cuban people," Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted.
Opponents say it only makes it more difficult for Cuban-Americans to visit family living in regional cities across Cuba.
The move is a clear message that the US wants to end all forms of tourism from the US and cut off support for Cuba ally Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, which the US wants to unseat from power.
"Eager to punish Cuba’s unbreakable defiance, imperialism is going after regular flights to various Cuban cities. It doesn’t matter that they’re affecting family relations, or the modest pocketbooks of most Cubans in both countries," said Carlos F de Cossio, head of Cuba’s department of US affairs.
