US cruise retailer www.cruises.com has launched a UK site, offering ex-UK sailings, deals in pounds and UK cruise concierges.
The brand, owned by cruise retailer Cruise118, was previously focused on the American market but founders Mat Barritt and James Cole have inked a deal with World Travel Holdings to create a UK face.
Said Barritt: “Despite the recession, the UK cruise market is a thriving one, with latest statistics showing one in ten holidays booked is now a cruise, and predicting 1.65 million Brits will go on a cruise holiday in 2010.
“Holidaymakers are starting to see how well cruise holidays stack up against traditional land-based package deals – and the multiple destination options and luxury service offered on board really makes a cruise stand out as both great value and a way to relax, indulge and get away from it all.
“This new brand means we are perfectly placed to serve these customers with the best possible holidays – tailored to suit their individual needs.”
Cruise118 was established in June 2008 by ex MyTravel directors Barritt and Cole.
