US travelers have been warned to stay away from a popular tourist street in Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur because of a terror threat.
The US embassy in Malaysia has warned American citizens to avoid Jalan Alor and the immediate areas around the street, which is in the popular tourist district of Bukit Bintang.
It said there was a ‘credible threat information regarding a potential terrorist act.’
According to local media, police have stepped up security in the area.
