US issues federal vaccination mandate

US President Joe Biden is losing patience with slowing vaccination rates as the Delta variant sweeps across the country. The government is putting pressure on private companies to get their workforce vaccinated. With an executive order, it is mandating the jab for federal employees, contractors and health-care workers.
That will impact more than two million public workers. Biden said the U.S. Department of Labor will issue a rule requiring companies with more than 100 employees to mandate vaccines or require weekly testing.
The US is currently recording more than 150,000 new cases per day. Just over 54% of the population is fully vaccinated.
