The world’s largest ski resort operator is adding to its growing portfolio again.
It has agreed a deal to buy all ski operations at Stowe Mountain Resort for an estimated $50 million.
Vail’s current portfolio spans Utah to Australia but Stowe would be the first on the East Coast.
The 485-acre Stowe is an upmarket resort with lift prices among the highest in New England.
"I think this is a win-win for everybody in terms of what Vail brings to the table with their significant brand and marketing presence in the marketplace," said Parker Riehle, the president of the Vermont Ski Areas Association.
Stowe will be added to Vail’s Epic Pass program for the next ski season.
Vail owns resorts in Colorado, California, Utah, the Midwest, British Columbia and Australia.
