Vicksburg, Mississippi opens up historic homes for Christmas
Historic Vicksburg, Mississippi is bringing back its unique ‘open house’ visits this festive season.
The 2024 O’ Christmas Tree Home Tour is hosted by the Heritage Guild of Vicksburg and Warren County.
Following its success last year, a group of Vicksburg homeowners are honoring Mahala Roach’s tradition.
“O’ Christmas Tree” features twelve architecturally significant homes which are rarely open to the public.
Each home invites visitors and will be on tour for one day only.
Architecturally the homes range from Tudor Revival to the Queen Anne style having been built from 1885 to 1970.
All of the houses will be decorated for Christmas.
The tours will take place over the first two weekends in December from 1pm – 3pm, with three homes featured each day.
The home tours offer a trip through history.
The City of Vicksburg will provide transportation, allowing visitors to seamlessly hop from one house to the next.
November 29 kicks off the ceremonial start of the season Vicksburg with a presentation from Mayor George Flaggs and live music at Washington Street Park for the official tree lighting.
