Vietnam low cost carrier Vietjet has announced its latest international expansion with two new routes linking Ho Chi Minh City with Kuala Lumpur and Tainan City, Taiwan.
Both routes will commence in June, beginning with Kuala Lumpur on June 1, followed by the inaugural flight to Tainan City on June 22.
Tainan City flights will operate four times a week from Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
"The launch of the new routes is the latest development in our plans to expand Vietjet’s operating network in Asia. With these routes, we can offer passengers more options for travel at affordable prices,"said Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, vice president of Vietjet.
To kick off the new routes, Vietjet is offering zero-fare tickets during a promotion each day between 1pm-3pm until April 18.
The promotional fare does not include taxes or fuel surcharge and is valid for flights to both destinations until October 30.
Vietjet currently operates 47 domestic and international routes, which include Singapore, Bangkok, Siem Reap, Taipei, Yangon and Seoul.
