Vietnam investigates prostitution ring on Ha Long Bay cruises
Police have busted a cruise ship prostitution ring in Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay.
Three men, accused of being pimps, were reportedly arrested and Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security has opened a criminal investigation.
Pham Duc Hung, 30, Tran Van Giang, 33, and Hoang Ngoc Hai, 21, are under investigation for ‘brokering sexual services,’ according to local media.
Customers were charged between VND10 million and VND15 million ($432-$648) for a luxury ‘sex cruise’ according to a police department source.
It is the first time police had busted a prostitution ring at sea, the source said.
The three men allegedly hired 15 girls to provide sexual services on cruises.
Hung was caught by police in possession of $1,000 for arranging a sex cruise for three customers.
