The Pakistan fake pilot license scandal is beginning to have far reaching implications with foreign airlines.
Vietnam’s civil aviation administration has grounded all Pakistani expat pilots working for Vietnamese airlines who had their licenses issued in Pakistan.
It suspended 27 pilots although only 12 are currently flying due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
It was done as a precaution while aviation officials check the authenticity of their licenses.
If found to be genuine they will be able to resume flying.
It includes expat pilots with Vietjet and Jetstar Pacific.
Pakistan grounded 262 pilots including nearly 150 from Pakistan International Airlines.
The scandal came to light after PIA was scrutinised as part of the investigation into the Karachi air crash in May.
They allegedly paid active pilots to take their pilots exam on their behalf.
Kuwait Airways has also grounded pilots with Pakistan licenses.
