Vietnam luxury cruise and hospitality company Paradise Group has named veteran travel executive Carmen Marienberg as new chief operating officer.
Hailing from Germany, Marienberg has 30 years hotel and cruise industry experience, with many years in Asia Pacific.
She was previously general manger at La Residence Hotel & Spa in Hue, Vietnam and worked at Cunard as well as several positions at Carnival Cruise Lines.
Paradise is the largest cruise operator by fleet size at UNESCO World Heritage site Halong Bay and is soon launching a new sister line called Paradise Elegance with two new vessels.
"It’s a critical juncture for Paradise. It’s in expansion mode, which is exciting but nothing can stand for any length of time without the right foundation," Marienberg said.
Paradise Group also operates the 156-room Paradise Suites and Paradise Trend hotels in Halong Bay
