Passengers due to fly on the New York and Dubai routes, and holding proof of a purchased ticket, can receive the rates.

Virgin is offering Silverjet ticketholders an Upper Class rate of £759 one-way for Dubai tickets and £899 for New York tickets.

These can be booked via Virgin Atlantic’s contact centre or at its ticket desk at Heathrow Terminal 3.

Fares are also available in Premium Economy and Economy for both routes.

BA’s partner agents and travel management companies with Silverjet clients can re-book these customers onto BA’s premium leisure fares (D, R or I class), and the airline will waive the advance purchase and minimum Saturday night stay rules to enable customers to travel as per their original plans, BA said.

Passengers or their travel companies will need to produce proof of their Silverjet booking and the travel date must be after May 30, 2008. New bookings must be ticketed by June 13.

BA said: “All partner travel agents and TMCs are asked to check batraveltrade.com or speak to their BA account manager for further details and terms and conditions.”

BA head of leisure sales Adam Daniels said: “We understand that this may be an uncertain time for customers who were booked to travel with Silverjet. We are pleased to be able to offer them an alternative with British Airways.”
