Viva Macau chief executive Con Korfiatis said, “We’re excited to be the pioneers connecting Australia and Macau, a city that is fast-becoming Asia’s hot spot as an entertainment and conference destination.”
Sydney services will coincide with the delivery of Viva Macau’s third B767. It also plans to launch services to Incheon and Osaka within the next two months, before launching services to Europe by the end of 2007.
Korfiatis was recently appointed as the new chief executive of Viva Macau, replacing Andrew Pyne, who is heading off to Russia.
New additional routes awarded to Viva Macau include Korea, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
