VLM expands from Manchester
Regional carrier VLM is to start direct flights from Manchester to Rotterdam.
Two flights a day will run from February 26 with a single frequency on Sundays.
The new service complements the airline’s Manchester-Antwerp service launched in October and flights to London City Airport.
Manchester Airport is home to one of VLM Airlines’ largest operations with two of its fleet of Fokker 50 aircraft and around 40 employees based there.
The decision to start the service follows extensive analysis of the carrier’s existing services between Manchester and Rotterdam which connect via the London City hub, and increased demand from passengers to travel non-stop between the two cities.
VLM managing director Johan Vanneste said: “This new route further enhances the choice of services we provide between the Netherlands and the UK, with 25 flights now offered each weekday.”
