Wales holiday park operator in administration

A major South Wales holiday park operator has gone into administration.

Celtic Holiday Parks, which operates parks in Pembrokeshire, is now seeking a buyer, administrator Grant Thornton says.

The parks – Noble Court Holiday Park, Narberth and Meadow House Holiday Park, Amroth – will continue to operate as normal, with jobs secure for now, it said.

Celtic Holiday Parks was established as a family run business in 2003, and is run by managing director Huw Pendleton.

In 2022, Pendleton received an award for ‘outstanding contribution to the UK tourism industry.’

Celtic Holiday Parks offer static caravans, lodges, glamping and touring and tenting pitches.

About £6 million was invested in parks in recent years and in 2020 it secured a loan to add 54 holiday homes.

“The joint administrators are continuing to trade the company’s business whilst a buyer is sought, and employees have been retained to support this strategy.,” Grant Thornton said.

“Unless customers are contacted and advised otherwise, their bookings will go ahead and access to the parks will continue as normal for owners of caravans and lodges.”
