Wales has launched its world-first coastal walk to the international market but does not expect visitors to tramp around the entire 1,400 kilometres for 80 days.
"Rather we are encouraging people to do shorter sections so that they not only experience our coastline, but also get a taste for our food, castles and culture," said Clare Dwight, Visit Wales product marketing manager.
Visitors can walk the entire coastline – in easy-to-manage sections – along waymarked trails to experience what Lonely Planet has voted the greatest region on earth to visit it 2012.
Cheryl Gillam, UK Secretary of State for Wales, said her presence at Destination Britain and Ireland (DEBI) in Bangkok was an endorsement of the importance the British government is placing on the benefits of inbound tourism to the UK.
And one of her favourite spots on the coastal walk? "The seafront at Llandudno, it’s like a film set," she said.
