The Wales Tourist Board won the top exhibitor award at the British Travel Trade Fair at Birmingham’s NEC.

The WTB ran out winners of the show’s award for “overall participation excellence”.

Enjoy England won the award for stand design; Macdonald Hotels was judged to have “the most effective stand for doing business”; and Trentham Leisure
received an award for its public relations effort.

The World of Beatrix Potter won the award for the “most effective stand
personnel”; Kent Tourism Alliance was deemed to be the most effective
first-time exhibitor; and regional airline Eastern Airways – another BTTF
first-timer, which sponsored the show’s first-ever internet café – won the
Marketing Birmingham award for innovation.

WTB chief executive Jonathon Jones said: “We are simply delighted for every
one of our partners on the stand. ‘Partnership’ is an over-used word, but
it really does work and the Wales Tourist Board is very proud to bring these
partners together.”

BTTF event director Graeme Barnett said: “The judging panel had a very tough job. Exhibitors have clearly recognised the commercial importance of
BTTF, and have responded in imaginative and innovative ways to maximise the return on their investment in the show.”
