Waymark sees switch to rail bookings
Environmental concerns are prompting travellers to switch to rail travel, according to Waymark Holidays.
The walking holiday specialist said it has seen a rising number of travellers switch to European trips where they can take a train rather than fly because they are concerned about the impact on global warming.
“Since we introduced French trips with a train travel option, a large number of their clients made the conscious choice not to fly,” said product manager for Waymark Holidays, Claire Etherton.
“Most of those clients told us they chose the trips because they felt it was more environmentally friendly.”
Etherton said Waymark was continually researching new trips, particularly those where alternatives to flying were possible.
