Wayport, which describes itself as the leading provider of high-speed Internet access in more than 700 US hotels and a dozen airports, has added the TradeWinds Island Grand and the Sandpiper Hotel & Suites in St. Pete Beach to its client list. Wayport numbers among its clients the Four Seasons, Loews, Sheraton, Radisson, Hilton and others. The company says its Wi-Fi wireless service offers speeds up to 50 times faster than dial-in service. It also is convenient because it’s always on and there are no dial-up numbers. The two St. Pete hotels took the service partly because many of their clients are meeting planners and business travelers who are increasingly demanding high-speed internet access, according to Tim Bogott, president and CEO of Tradewinds Island Resorts, owner of the two hotels along Florida’s West Coast.
