Western Australia wins top international web site award
Tourism Western Australia has beaten a range of top international entries and ultimately, finalists VisitBritain and Egypt for the number one winner’s slot in the Tourist Board web site category at the fourth annual TravelMole web awards, held in the London in the UK yesterday.
Tourism Western Australia was strongly nominated by UK TravelMole subscribers and travel industry members for its web site www.therealaustralia.com, which features Western Australia – the Real Thing.
The site [pictured below] incorporates TV, a virtual tour, a section titled “Real Stuff” and a highly innovative travel profiler, was very highly rated by the judges.
The biggest awards in the TravelMole web awards history, the prestigious TravelMole Web Awards 2007 awards ceremony took place yesterday in London, organised by TravelMole in association with www.Youtravel.com and held at the classic setting of Canada House overlooking Trafalgar Square.
Winners in other categories in the highly rated awards were Virgin Atlantic, Ocean Village, www.lastminute.com, MacDonald Hotels, The Internet Video, and The Caravan Club.
