WestJet codeshares with Hong Kong Airlines
Canadian carrier WestJet has strengthened its relationship with Hong Kong Airlines with a codeshare partnership.
It builds on an interline agreement the two airlines began earlier this year.
Hong Kong Airlines, which began direct flights to Vancouver earlier this summer, is putting its ‘HX’ flight code on WestJet-operated flights for through ticketing within Canada for its customers.
It allows its customers to connect at Vancouver via selected WestJet flights to Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto.
"We welcome Hong Kong Airlines as our newest codeshare partner and congratulate them on their inaugural service to Vancouver in June of this year. This codeshare agreement provides guests on both sides of the Pacific more choice and opportunity," said Ed Sims, WestJet commercial EVP.
Li Dianchun, chief commercial officer, Hong Kong Airlines said: "Our newly launched daily service between Hong Kong and Vancouver has been a great success, and this codeshare agreement with WestJet, which extends our network in Canada beyond Vancouver,"
