WestJet flying to US

Saturday, 10 Feb, 2004 0

Calgary-based WestJet, which has operated almost entirely in Canada, announced it was adding US routes next fall. The airline will begin flying to Los Angeles, as well as Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando in Florida. Seasonal service will include trips to Phoenix, Ariz., and Palm Springs, Calif. WestJet will also add another 120 non-stop flights a week this summer throughout its domestic network, including seven flights per week from Ottawa to Vancouver, and seven return flights. “Canadians have been asking WestJet to provide our low fares and unique service into the United States for years. We are now at a stage in our growth where trans-border service is a prudent, logical next step,” said WestJet president and CEO Clive Beddoe. –Report by David Wilkening—
