White House nominates ex-United executive as FAA administrator

The Biden Administration has chosen Michael G. Whitaker as the pick for the next Federal Aviation Administration chief.
Whitaker was FAA deputy administrator from 2013-2016.
He is most recently CEO at Supernal, which designs air mobility vehicles.
As deputy administrator, Whittaker “brought industry and government together to drive the successful transition of the nation’s air traffic control system,’ the White House said.
He was previously CEO of India based InterGlobe, parent company of India’s largest airline IndiGo
He also spent 15 years at United Airlines in various executive roles.
The FAA is currently overseen by acting administrator Polly Trottenberg.
