Wine cruise to be “first” at Carnival
Carnival Cruise Lines announced the first-ever Presidential Wine Club Cruise to be held next December.
The six-day inaugural Wine Club Cruise will operate round-trip from Fort Lauderdale, calling at Freeport, Grand Cayman and Cozumel.
Carnival president and CEO Bob Dickinson said the cruise will feature a variety of events, including wine tastings, informative seminars with wine experts and wine-themed parties.
The cruise is being held in conjunction with the Presidential Wine Club, which Mr Dickinson says is the cruise industry’s first affinity group for wine enthusiasts. Cruise bookers need not be members to participate.
Launched earlier this year, the Presidential Wine Club provides members with bottles of select boutique wines each month.
The cruise will be on the Carnival Liberty, now under construction, which will have an internet cafe, four swimming pools and supervised activities for children and teens. Sixty percent of Carnival Liberty’s 1,487 staterooms offer either an ocean view of balcony.
Prices for the cruise 4-10 December start at $504 per person based on double occupancy.
