Winners of TravelMole UK Awards revealed
Winners of the TravelMole UK Awards 2019 have been revealed, including a number of categories new for this year.
The awards, now in their 15th year, recognise travel companies, tourist boards and suppliers that have made a significant impact in web, social, mobile and technology.
TravelMole readers were invited to vote for shortlisted entries.
New awards included Best Home-working Agency Website, Best Tourist Attraction Website and Best Travel Comparison Website.
Sponsors included Travelzoo, Skyteam, IGTO, Traveltrex, Interhome, Gosh PR, Babble, Pinpoint Britain, Mauritius, NEC Group, and MBM Travel Executives.
The awards were presented at Piste, the apr-¨s ski-themed bar at Archer Street in Soho, London, where the multi-talented bar and waiting staff entertained the audience by occasionally breaking out into song.
A charity auction at this year’s event raised more than £4,000 for Missing People, a charity to help find missing people on behalf of the friends and family left behind and to provide specialised support to ease their heartache and confusion.
It runs a free, confidential helpline 24 hours a day by phone, text and email to support missing children and adults, and their loved ones.
Prizes for the auction included two Club Europe tickets to Milan from British Airways, four nights at the Oberoi in Mauritius, a place on an Israel fam trip, a week’s car rental with Sixt, £3,500 worth of advertising with TravelMole and the chance to play golf against TravelMole’s Graham McKenzie and a celebrity guest at the Dyke Golf Club in Brighton, including bacon rolls, lunch and a few pints of Harveys!
"Well done to all of this year’s winners and to all of the companies shortlisted. They are all leaders in their field," said McKenzie.
"We pride ourselves on our awards party, which is fun, informal and gives people a chance to network and catch up with friends and colleagues, but what makes our awards really special is that they are voted for by our readers.
"We are also proud to support our fantastic charity, Missing People, and would like to thank all of the companies who donated prizes for our auction and all those who bid. Once again we’ve managed to raise a huge amount of money. Thank you everyone."
