Wizz Air lays on 100.000 free seats for Ukrainian refugees
Although Wizz Air has suspended all flights to Ukraine, it is reaching out with a helping hand for all displaced Ukrainians.
The airline is offering 100,000 free seats across continental Europe for Ukrainian refugees who make it to Hungary, Poland, Slovakia or Romania.
“Wizz Air is committed to helping refugees reach their final destinations, wherever that may be,” the airline said.
“Wizz Air has already added larger planes and extra flights from border countries to Europe to help support the movement of refugees as necessary.”
Passengers are required to present their Ukrainian passport or ID card number when booking and when checking in.
Free seats can be booked at: https://wizzair.com/#/rescue
For refugees stranded elsewhere in Europe, the airline is offering a ‘rescue fare’ at €29.99.
“We are committed to helping as many Ukrainian refugees as possible to get to a safe place,” said Jozsef Váradi, Chief Executive Officer of Wizz Air.
