A woman’s violent meltdown on a plane just moments before landing has landed her a federal charge.
Charlene Harriott lunged toward the cockpit and attacked flight attendants last week just as an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Charlotte was touching down.
She was duct-taped and zip-tied and charged with interfering with flight crew, a charge which could mean a long prison sentence.
The reason for the sudden outburst is still unknown and according to a criminal complaint Harriott bit one and attacked other flight attendants.
The complaint states Harriott ‘became more aggressive and physically violent toward the flight crew’ as they struggled to restrain her.
The FBI complaint said she ‘knowingly and intentionally’ interfered with operating of the flight by ‘intimidating’ crew.
Harriott remains in Mecklenburg County awaiting a court appearance this week.
