A Chinese safari park has been temporarily closed and an investigation is underway after a woman was mauled to death by a tiger.
A middle-aged woman was killed by a Siberian tiger at Badaling Wildlife Park after she left her car to help her daughter who was initially attacked by another tiger.
The tragic incident was caught on surveillance video.
The younger woman reportedly got out of the car after an argument and was dragged away by a tiger.
Her mother then went to her aid but was killed by a second tiger.
Park officials were quickly on the scene and said the daughter suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive.
Badaling Wildlife Park is one of the largest animal parks of its kind in China and has 10,000 wild animals, including brown bears, leopards and wild wolves in open enclosures.
Numerous signs are posted around the park stating: ‘Cherish your life. Never get out of your car.’
