WTM eyes expansion into Thailand

Tuesday, 10 Jun, 2014 0

There is speculation that Reed Travel Exhibitions will tie the knot with Thailand Travel Mart.

Buyer and seller questionnaires circulated at the trade fair which wrapped up in Bangkok last week sought opinions on whether changing the annual event to World Travel Market Thailand would be a positive move.

Reed has been expanding the WTM brand around the globe, with the new WTM Africa in Cape Town pitched against South Africa Tourism’s annual trade show, Indaba, in Durban.

An official from the Tourism Authority of Thailand told TTG Asia e-Daily that negotiations with WTM were ongoing but that no final agreement had been reached.
