Yasawa Voted Fiji’s Leading Spa Resort
Yasawa Island Resort and Spa has been voted Fiji’s Leading Spa Resort in the 14th World Travel Awards announced in Bangalore, India.
The award is among the most prestigious available in the international travel industry and was presented after a voting process involving 167,000 travel professionals from more than 190 countries worldwide.
Yasawa was chosen from among six finalists in the category for Fiji’s Leading Spa Resort. The resort was also a finalist for Australasia’s Leading Spa Resort, while its exclusive honeymoon bungalow Lomalagi was a finalist for Fiji’s Leading Suite.
The award comes as Yasawa celebrates the first birthday of its magnificent new Baravi Spa, Fiji’s first beachfront spa centre. Standing just metres from the ocean’s edge on a sweep of pristine white sand, the Baravi Spa offers massages and treatments sourced from around the world and adapted with the Fijian sense of warm and calm.
Yasawa Island Resort and Spa is one of the most isolated luxury resorts in Fiji, with just 18 bungalows hidden among the palms on an island overlooked by the modern world. The resort was last year named “Most Excellent Romantic Hideaway” in the prestigious Condé Nast Johansens Awards in New York, while this year it was chosen among two of “Fiji’s Best Hideaways” in the respected Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report.
Yasawa’s idyllic beaches were also recognised this year by respected US magazine Forbes Traveler which named them among the world’s top ten “beaches you’ve never heard of”.
Dubbed the “Oscars of the Travel Industry”, the annual World Travel Awards recognise the best organisations in international travel including hotels, resorts, airlines, conference venues, tour operators and tourism authorities. The Leading Spa Resort award was one of more than 70 accolades presented on Friday night as part of the regional ceremony for Asia/Pacific.
Until March 31, 2008, guests who stay five nights at Yasawa Island Resort and Spa can stay an extra two nights free.
The Pay Five, Stay Seven offer is available for bookings made by November 30, 2007 (excludes travel Dec 14, 2007 to Jan 4, 2008).
