YouTravel refund window extension welcomed
B2B bed bank Youtravel.com has extended its cancellation policy to the end of October 2024.
This gives more time for partners to secure alternative arrangements for their clients.
Youtravel.com’s business was upended early last month due to the sudden insolvency of owner FTI Touristik.
At the time it said: “We are a separate entity and are actively working on determining the future course of action without the support of FTI Touristik.”
“The complexity of our group means that it has become more difficult than initially expected to structure a takeover,” Youtravel.com said last week.
For this reason, the cancellation refund window was extended until after summer.
This has been welcomed by Jason Waldron from Superescapes.co.uk.
He commended a move to give more time to secure alternative arrangements for clients.
“it is a testament to a responsible approach during complex negotiations for its future. The travel industry watches with interest, hoping for a positive outcome.”
“At this stage the majority of bookings have been successfully transitioned to alternative suppliers, ensuring minimal disruption,” Waldron added.
I believe the travel community is hopeful for a speedy resolution to Youtravel.com’s challenges, as the company has been a valued partner.”
