1000MTG holds first Australia-UK agent gathering and conference

1000 Mile Travel Group (1000MTG) recently held its first-ever joint Australia/UK conference in Hong Kong.
It brought together industry experts, suppliers, and independent travel agents, focusing on collaboration, learning, and innovation.
This year’s theme, “Evolving Fearlessly,” was about embracing change to seek new opportunities.
“The energy, passion, and enthusiasm our travel advisors and suppliers brought were truly infectious, evident from Day 1 through to Day 3,” said Lauren Gray, 1000MTG Australia General Manager.
The conference celebrated a significant new partnership between 1000MTG and Mandarin Oriental, joining the exclusive luxury Fan Club.
The event offered attendees opportunities to connect and learn.
One of the most popular features was the supplier speed dating sessions, which allowed travel professionals to engage with key partners in a time-efficient format.
A keynote address was delivered by Maria Witchell, with lessons on resilience, leadership, and adaptability in the face of challenges.
It concluded with a Gala Evening.
“Networking with our peers across the globe was invaluable. We forged long-term connections and uncovered new ways to grow together,” said Alex Locke, 1000MTG United Kingdom – General Manager.
The conference also included organized excursions across Hong Kong made possible by the generosity and support of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, including a ride on The Peak Tram, a private Junk Boat cruise, and the chance to tour Disney’s World of Frozen.
The conference was supported by Platinum sponsors including Hong Kong Tourism Board and Sabre, along with Gold sponsors Expedia TAAP, TBO, Oceania, and Tramada.
Silver sponsors were 50 Degrees North, Beyond Travel, Travelport, Singapore Airlines, Uniworld, and Delta Air Lines.
