Advantage CEO applauds Online Travel UK government lobbying plans
Advantage Travel Partnership CEO Julia Lo Bue-Said has applauded another industry voice to advocate for tourism with government officials.
She spoke on behalf of the Online Travel UK lobbying group, which just launched a new website and brand identity.
“We welcome a further lobbying group for the UK Outbound Travel industry. It is clear online travel companies also feel that the sector is not sufficiently recognised by the government,” she said.
“We are sure there will be areas of overlap on issues and policies and will be delighted to work together with them.”
The UK Outbound Travel Group hosts an industry-wide meeting on 16 September to provide an update on their work and encourage other brands to join their lobbying effort.
Members of Online Travel UK include OTAs Booking.com, Skyscanner, On the Beach and Trainline.
It pledges to help ‘shape the future of travel and support UK economic growth’.
“We have been engaging with stakeholders across the political landscape over the past year, and are looking forward to working with MPs and regulators,” Online Travel UK said.
