Air Canada has appointed a new vice president of global sales.
Duncan Bureau will take over the position on June 9, replacing Zeina Gedeon, who has opted to pursue other interests outside the company.
In a newly defined role, Bureau will be responsible for revenue generation across all global sales channels and points of sale.
He will report directly to Ben Smith, executive vice president and chief commercial officer and will be based in Toronto.
"I am pleased to announce Duncan Bureau’s appointment to this key role of leading the sales team at Air Canada as we focus on maintaining a competitive advantage in the domestic Canadian market and expand our international network," said Ben Smith.
Bureau has widespread airline industry experience in sales and distribution, notably as senior vice president, global sales and distribution at Malaysia Airlines.
Previously he worked at Westjet in the position of vice president, sales and distribution from 2006 to 2012.
