Air Canada bag tracking goes live
Air Canada rolled out a new feature on its mobile app to enable customers to track their baggage and mobility aids in real time.
Items can be tracked at key points throughout their journey for domestic flights.
“At Air Canada, we know that prompt delivery of baggage and mobility aids is a top priority for our customers,” said Tom Stevens, VP, Customer Experience and Operations Strategy.
Using the Air Canada app, customers can now track their baggage and mobility aid as it travels with them on domestic flights.
The airline hopes to expands it next year to trans border flights to the US.
Travelers can track the progress of their checked items from check-in, through the airport handling process, on to the aircraft and through connections and arrival.
Mobility aids can be tracked with confirmation under Air Canada’s enhanced accessibility protocols, showing it is securely loaded before the aircraft departs.
The tracker’s “What’s Next” feature tells customers the next step for their items, including where to pick up their bag, such as an airport baggage carousel number.
In the event baggage is delayed, the app enables customers to easily file a delayed baggage report from their smart phone and arrange delivery.
The Air Canada mobile app functionality enables flight bookings and check-in, plus self-service capabilities, flight status notifications, airport maps and more.
