Air New Zealand is working closely with Airbus to develop hydrogen powered aircraft. They announced a joint initiative to cooperate on a joint research project for zero-emission hydrogen aircraft.
They will explore ‘opportunities and challenges’ such as the achievable flying range and what ground infrastructure would be required. Airbus said it is currently exploring three different ideas for hydrogen-powered aircraft, including turboprop, turbofan and blended wing aircraft.
